SUMMARY:Startup Grind Louisville w/ Kela Ivonye
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to have Kela Ivonye\, co-founder of Protege and an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) for Amplify Louisville\, as our speaker for our November Fireside Chat. He is passionate about helping Black entrepreneurs succeed by connecting them with Super founders for mentorship and investment. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear Kela share his story and passion for helping people. \n\n\n\nMeet Kela\n\n\n\nKela works with the best talent in Louisville to assist them in creating and growing highly scalable startups\, with a focus on Black founders. He co-founded Protege\, a nonprofit and micro fund that helps Black entrepreneurs succeed by connecting them with Super founders for mentorship and investment. Kela works to cultivate community among black founders in Louisville through his quarterly Founder Social events sponsored by Amplify. Additionally\, Kela is an Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) for Amplify Louisville. He began his entrepreneurial journey by founding Arrow Food Couriers\, an on-demand delivery startup with a hyper-local focus. They used geo-spatial technology to divide cities into self-sufficient delivery districts\, reducing delivery time by over 40% compared to other couriers. Upon the sale of Arrow Food Couriers\, Kela used his logistics experience to launch MailHaven\, a smart\, curbside mailbox that secures packages for absent homeowners. The MailHaven provides value for everyone throughout the supply chain. MailHaven owners never have to sign for packages or worry about theft. Couriers delivering to a MailHaven never have to redeliver packages to that address and experience faster route times. In late 2019\, MailHaven was acquired by Luxer One\, a subsidiary of Assa Abloy ($ASSA).  Kela holds a BASc in Geographic Information Science and Cartography and dropped out of the Masters in Urban Planning from the University of Louisville.

SUMMARY:How To Manage Your Business and Life
DESCRIPTION:Do you feel like you need to race to meet a bunch of hard deadlines in order to get stuff done? Well\, you don’t. One of the biggest myths about ‘the hustle’ is that it goes hand-in-hand with burnout and fatigue. Vanessa Zamy will share better ways that ambitious\, purpose-led business owners (from solopreneurs to leaders of big teams) can manage their time so they ‘hustle while breathing’ and optimize the synergy between their life and goals.
